Who we are

Alliance Trust Savings is an award-winning platform provider that offers a range of Accounts and services to help you meet your clients’ financial needs, including SIPPs, ISAs, Child Accounts and General Investment Accounts.

We’ve been administering investments for our customers since 1986. Today we are privileged to have more than 100,000 Account holders and over £14.6 billion of assets under administration (at December 2018).

What you can expect

Fairness

We charge Account fees based on what your clients do on our platform, not on what they are worth. The idea is that each client covers their own costs. Many other platforms charge for at least some of their services based on the value of investments, so people with larger Account values pay more and end up subsidising the costs for those with smaller ones.

We don’t do this because we don’t think it is fair. No matter what the value of an Account, it costs us roughly the same to manage it and to provide services to you.

Simplicity

We’re committed to making it as simple as possible to do business with us, so we don’t stop at offering you a choice of great, competitively-priced platform services for your higher value clients.

Our online service is also intuitive and easy to use. Simple and straightforward navigation walks you through all key platform processes, from new business applications through to trading. Key client documents are generated and stored online as you go, and in many cases we don’t need a client signature to accept an application, you can submit entirely online.

EXPERIENCE COUNTS

We’ve been in the investment administration business for over 30 years, building on our parent company Alliance Trust PLC’s 130 years of experience.

  1. 1888

    The directors of the Dundee Mortgage & Trust Ltd and the Dundee Investment Company joined forces and incorporated The Alliance Trust Company Ltd on 21 April 1888.

  2. 1986

    Alliance Trust Savings began as a savings scheme that was run for the shareholders of the Trusts but following the launch of PEPs, it became an investment trust ‘supermarket’. Within the accounts it administered investors that could not only hold Alliance Trust shares but shares in other companies as well.

  3. 2009

    Alliance Trust moved into its new offices at 8 West Marketgait, Dundee, ending its 89 year occupancy of Meadow House.

  4. 2015

    Acquires execution only stockbroker business, Stocktrade, from Brewin Dolphin.

  5. 2016

    Alliance Trust Savings becomes a standalone, independent business within the Alliance Trust PLC group.

  6. 2017

    ATS exceeds 15bn AUA.

  7. 2018

    Alliance Trust PLC announces sale of ATS to interactive investor.
