Alliance Trust Savings (ATS) is an award-winning platform provider that offers a range of Accounts to meet your financial needs, including SIPPs, ISAs, Child Accounts and Investment Dealing Accounts.

We’ve been administering investments for our customers since 1986. Today we are privileged to have more than 100,000 Account holders and over £16 billion of assets under administration (at 30 April 2019).


Our mission is to deliver superior investment choice and service to you at a fair cost. What we believe in underpins how we go about doing that, and what you can expect from us.

Charges Guide


We charge flat Account fees based on what you do on our platform, not on what you are worth. The idea is that you cover your own costs. Many other platforms charge for at least some of their services based on the value of your investments, so people with larger Account values pay more and end up subsidising the costs for those with smaller ones.

We don’t do this because we don’t think it is fair. No matter what the value of your Account, it costs us roughly the same to manage it and to provide services to you.

We’ve been in the investment administration business for over 30 years.

  1. 1986

    Alliance Trust Savings began as a savings scheme for shareholders of our parent company, Alliance Trust PLC. Following the launch of PEPs, it became an investment trust ‘supermarket’ where investors could not only hold Alliance Trust shares but shares in other companies as well.

  2. 2009

    Alliance Trust moved into its new offices at 8 West Marketgait, Dundee, ending its 89 year occupancy of Meadow House.

  3. 2015

    Acquires execution only stockbroker business, Stocktrade, from Brewin Dolphin.

  4. 2016

    Alliance Trust Savings becomes a standalone, independent business within the Alliance Trust PLC group.

  5. 2018

    Alliance Trust PLC announces sale of ATS to interactive investor.

  6. 2019

    The sale of Alliance Trust Savings is complete and the company becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of the interactive investor group.
